Counselling for adults who carry significant responsibilities

Sometimes people understand their difficulties clearly, yet still find themselves reacting in ways they later wish had gone differently.

Some people notice experiences like these

  • From the outside things may appear to be going well, yet inside there is a constant tension that becomes harder to hold when certain situations keep repeating despite efforts to manage them.
  • Holding yourself to very high expectations and feeling the pressure of not wanting to let yourself or others down.
  • Reacting more strongly than intended, and wishing afterwards that it had gone differently.
  • Sensing that others see you as capable, while privately carrying more self-doubt than they realise.
  • Wanting past experiences not to shape how you show up for the people who matter to you.
  • Looking more closely at these moments often reveals patterns that are easy to miss at first.
  • As these patterns become clearer, certain reactions may begin to make more sense.
  • For many people, recognising these patterns becomes the starting point for change.

How the work unfolds

Reactions can sometimes appear quickly in moments of pressure. Even when someone understands a situation clearly, thoughts, emotions and physical responses may unfold in ways that feel difficult to influence.

Looking carefully at these experiences together often reveals how these responses influence each other.

As these patterns become clearer, reactions that once felt confusing may begin to make more sense.

Over time, this process can create space for different responses to emerge.

The people behind Ampelos Therapy

Therapy is ultimately a human process. The work here is carried out by therapists who share a grounded and reflective approach, while each bringing their own experience and perspective to the work.

Clients often find that the relationship with the therapist becomes an important part of the process itself.

How We Work

In counselling, it can be helpful to look not only at what someone thinks about a situation, but also at how emotional and physical responses unfold in the moment.

This work draws on evidence-based approaches, including EMDR where appropriate, to explore how earlier experiences may continue to influence present reactions.

By slowing down and working carefully with these patterns, people often begin to understand their responses in new ways and find that different choices gradually become possible.
